Grandma has it good!

Teaching Fisher to brush his teeth was some of the most fun I had in Alaska, and AK is a very fun place. I highly recommend the salmon fishing in Valdez.
Billiam came home from the Iraq war on R&R. The main reason for my visit was to babysit while Liz and Bill went off for a vacation. The kids know how to vacation alright because they are now expecting their second son. I will be returning to AK for some more "grandma duty" soon.
I am very excited to meet my newest grandson. Having two little men is more then I could've hoped for.
I will be glad when Lizzy gets all this pregnant stuff behind her. It is a mother/grandma's job to worry and I am no slacker in that regard.
She is a great mom and I am so pleased that she has settled down and made a family.
I'll post pictures of the new little one as soon as he makes himself available.

New Career?

I invested in a pet grooming trimmer and finished Lola's hair cut, that ended badly last week. I paid $30 for the trimmer, so it paid for itself already. Looks like even a novice, such as myself, can trim the pups if you have a good trimmer. Lola is happier with her do and much cooler too.
It went so well, I may trim Alice next.

Bad Hair Day for Lola

Its been pretty hot here in the Utah desert, so I thought Lola would appreciate a hair cut. I figured she would be cooler and I would have less hair to clean up since she has been shedding something awful.
Since the groomer wanted $50 to shave her I opted to do it myself. Well...as you can see I don't have a future in the dog grooming business. To make matters worse the shears died before I was even half way finished.
As you can tell by her expression, she is not happy with her new do. I promised her I wouldn't take her to the park or any other public place where she would be laughed at by the other dogs. I tried to tell her that the difference between a good hair cut and a bad one is.....two weeks. She didn't see the humor in my little joke. I hope I haven't traumatized her permanently. If I can't afford a dog groomer, I sure as hell can't afford a doggy therapist.
